It is a green laser module that is hooked up to a batterie which is plugged into a Iphone. The guy goes on the Iphone to and app on the app there is a bar and a button the says on and off. He presses the button and the module turns on on the bar it says 57% he moves the bar up and down which controls the power of the laser. It is a green laser and looks pretty bright.

I think what they're trying to get at is they're gunna add variable power controls on their next handheld lasers.
Wicked reminds me of the iphone range in a way, one of the first to do things so people latch onto them, but there are better out there for cheaper (both lasers and phones :V)

I think that's a pretty cool idea, If you could hook the phone up to multiple diodes you could do some pretty fun color mixing.

There is NO WAY I would every purchase anything from WL, but I would be interested in that type of set-up if a forum member made it.

All it does is generate a PWM signal which varies the output to the laser... you can do this with any laser with a driver that accepts TTL/PWM modulation.

I think the fun of the idea is the interface through ones phone. Not really that useful in real world applications but engaging non the less.

If that's all that interests you.... I could interface an
old rotary telephone to get the laser to output 10
different levels... but it would still be attached to the
Laser by a wire like the iPhone..... ;)
