How to sell my Laser pointer in the UK

Hi,

Thanks for looking at my thread, I am finding it quite difficult to sell my laser pointer bundle (This is not an advertisement, I won't sell on this thread).
Its a 1.4W Laser Pointer and 3x 15mW, 75mW and 100mW lasers.

Anywhere I have listed seem to remove them for safety but I would have tried to make sure the buyer seemed to know what they were talking about.

Do you guys have any advice? I have too low posts to post here and I know most of the posts are American.
Would it be worth posting here, is anyone from the UK buying such devices.

Sorry for all the questions, I appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Jamie

You can't post a sale thread here anyway so what is the point of "would it be worth" about unidentified lasers at unidentified prices. No way for anyone to know What you are talking about to begin with.

Post whatever it is you are selling on ebay UK or similar is best bet.

Thank you for your reply, I didn't want to list the actual items here as I know its not a Sale Thread and I didn't want to break the rules but I have a WL Arctic Spyder 3 1.4Watt, WL Nano - Red 100mW+ 650nm, WL Nano - Green 15mW+ 532nm, WL Nano - Purple 75mW+ 405nm selling as a bundle.

I tried eBay but they remove my listing because you cannot sell anything over 1 or mW and I had my account restricted.
I am just finding it hard to sell these so was looking for any advice.

Thanks
Jamie

Well, for one in this country it is only advisable to limit to 1mW in shops. So this is solely eBay policy. But usually the limit is 5mW not 1mW. Mostly companies get away with it by lying. :tsk: Otherwise you have to sell it as laser modules/parts.

You're best bet is on here, but you need to have x amount of posts before you can list.

Thank you for your reply, I will post on the site here and see if anyone is interested. I wasn't sure if anyone was selling/buying much from the UK as I couldn't see much in the selling page.

Thank you for your time.

Nobody from the UK is, as you have seen is selling here much, and for US buyers there are shipping and customs problems to worry about --nothing over 5mW is legal to import in USA + you are an unknown with no track record. Nobody is going to trust buyng from you anyway. Maybe use a middle man in the UK if you can find one who has the time to sell them here --you can ship your lasers to him for resale here or in UK --perhaps the UK member who already responded to you would do it for a percentage or small fee.

You are going around in circle--you already know you can't post a sale here---all sales must be only in the Buy, Sell, & Trade subforum and you can't post there until you meet the requirements to post there.

Post them on ebay usa and don't mention the outputs---maybe someone will buy them at a reasonable price--post them seperately--nobody is going to buy a "bundle" except at a very low price.

Is possible but not very believeable that everywhere in the UK you posted them and on they were taken down and you were not bright enought to leave the output out of the advert after it happened once if it really did. There is wicked lasers stuff being sold on ebay all day long every day.

Your best strategy is to post them on ebay and lie about the output. Just do what the Chinese do and say "Super bright burning <1mw laser" or something like that. Buyers will figure out by the description and price that the laser is FAR from 1mw.

No need to lie--just leave the ooutput out of the ad entirely.
Anyone who would buy a used Wicked Lasers item already knows what they are and what the outputs are or will ask in a massage or email.
There are always a few of them on ebay so apparently they rarely put 2 and 2 together.

Thats not a bad idea, I will see what I can do. I had posted on eBay with the wattage and it was removed, I posted again without mentioning wattage at all and they were still removed. I have listed on Gumtree and Facebook Marketplace, they weren't removed from there but I think it was just too specialist for the area I live in (Fife, Scotland).

Maybe the USA eBay isn't as strict. On eBay uk I got a warning stating I couldn't sell over 1mW, I have attached the email from ebay.

Thanks, Jamie

That 1mW rule is UK wide, not just a rule eBay came up with on their own. You can't sell pointers >1mW in shops or anything either, at least not legally. Can't remember the exact wording of the regulations.

I really appreciate your help guys, it does seem like I am a little stuck at the moment.
I didn't realise it would be so hard to re-sell the Lasers, I have had some good fun with them however getting married
in June, so you know some things have to go

I really appreciate the help, I was just wondering if I had missed anything.

I hope you all have a nice weekend.
Thanks,
Jamie

Is pathetic already--get someone else you know and trust to put it on ebay for you if you can't--how hard is that?

In any case good luck selling them.
