Interesting video, although less detail than I'd like. But hey, it's only 15 minutes long. Felt sort of rushed even then.

I guess video talks are not the best way to get a point across here, regardless of effort put into this one.

Lasers are just tools with broad application, from telling distance to medical purposes, and many more.

One thing to note is that lasers have many applications, perhaps like steel has. It is widely used in construction, in medicine, in space, and in anything in between.
 
I think her main point was most people have no idea just how much lasers are used in so many ways and doing so many things now a days ?
