I'm assuming this will be used to run a laser pointer to replace the batteries with a permanent solution or something?
If the voltage is enough, the current doesn't matter as long as it is higher than the maximum required by the laser. The driver board will take care of limiting the current.

it's one of those 17.00 cheap green pointers....take's 2 aaa which i know is 3 volts but wasnt sure when i saw the differant ma's listed, didnt want to fry it or underpower it...someone talked about powering the fan motor and the laser from one adapter but im afraid that (like so much other stuff i need to do)is over my head...... im trying to make vortex machines (for halloween and such) i need 3 or 4 of them, some i want battery so i can move them around as needed and others can plug in as they wont be moved.....so the 300 ma adapter wont be to much?
Oh... BTW: TEST THE OUTPUT BEFORE YOU PLUG YOUR LASER IN!
So many times have people fallen for the unregulated adapter problem... Make sure that there isn't a HUGE spike or too much over-voltage... If need be, grab a huge capacitor and put it on the + and - wired coming out of the adapter to help smooth it out a bit more.
