How many Inspector General of Police are appointed in a state in india?

DGP is most highest rank in State police and then come Inspector General of Police. My question is "How many Inspector General of Police are appointed in a state in india?' If there are multiple how the divisions are distributed among them because they are not divided on zonal level (DIG)?
