how do you make a laser vortex?

i want to construct something to shine my laser into and it makes a vortex

Do you mean just to make like a cone or tunnel? For that you just need a motor and a FS mirror. Glue the mirror on the motor shaft just slightly off center and shine a laser at it. Basically a 1 motor spiro.

Well you could build a SuperCollider like the one CERN threw together, it might be able to create some sort of vortex, or if you have a smaller budget Helios' idea sounds like a cracking low cost solution.
