home made awesome red laser idea

my friend was talking about getting a new dvd burner for his pc and he was going on and on about it then he mentioned light scribe. it suddenly hit me. light scribe is the function to put a title onto a dvd\cd hence really powerful laser to burn off white paint? yes or no

just a thought

wel its stil uses the same laser as the one that burns the dvd /cd
so  no more powerfull then the ones found in 16x-20x drives

mine currently does 375 mw (tec cooled)

Same power as the regular burners. Even so, its nothing to sneeze at.

That diode is 780nm, so it is no different than the CD burner inside of it, so you probably won't be able to make an amazing burner from it.
