ok i dont now if this has been answered before ive searched all day... how do i know what is postive and negitive on a 2xAA maglite?

If you plug in your laser diode, it facets get cooked, and it turns into a dim LED then the pin connected to the case on the diode is plugged into the negative.

I'd suggest that you Look Here and read all you can find first (don't just skim the threads ). You'll be much happier in the end.
