help please

I purchased a 180 mw laser diode module from ebay and upon powering it up with a 317 regulator driver I get now heat at all from it. It's very bright and you can see the beam in a dark room and see the dot in the brightest of sun lit days but no burn . can someone shed a little light ha ha on this problem for me. I've used up to 3.6 volts and 360ma with no luck. pretty good focus on the dot at 3 feet dot is just over 1/8 th of an inch.

For burning things try about 6 inches away and focus it even smaller than 1/8 inch.

what current are you powering it with? that could also be a reason of no burning.
