Hello.

I need some help finding a laser diode for a CNC project i'm working on. Originally, i intended to use a to-18 i took out of a DVD burner, but i accidentally bent off the positive pin...

Could you point me in the direction of some reputable places that will sell me the diode ONLY? I am looking for a diode that can support roughly 350mA CW. I have adequate heat dissipation and an AIXIZ laser module.

Also, in case anyone has any input, I intent to use the laser to burn matte black paint off the top of copper clad boards so that I can eventually etch them. Any idea if my hypothesis will work?

Thanks in advance! :thanks:

I recommend a 405nm or 445 for that. Do a google search for DTRs laser shop.

For your next one, what about a PHR803T or LPC826. They are relatively cheap to build in eg a C6 and they make good practice for the more expensive diodes.
