Help Blue Laser Pointer Driver.






I soldered the diode but i don't know If It's right..It doesn't operate. :/
The violet seems to be the GND to the host????I don't understand please explain:thinking:
 
Hmm...my english isn't that good i hope i can explain it correct :)
First: I don't know all that for sure..it is just a guess!!!

The Batteries make contact to the host(the metal housing) and the driver get in contact through the violet wire.
I think that contact will be the + pole from the battery, correct?
So you need to solder the wire to the host to get the driver running.
If you have a powersupply you can hook up the - to the spring an the + to the violet wire to test the functionalety.
But if the diode pins are wrong i think this would kill the diode!

Edit: I think you soldered the diode false...

If you powered the driver correctly...
Check the pinout...the LD- should be on the side with the switch.
Maybe wait with switching this thing on till someone who knows better replied..
The next problem is that soldering the diode have to be extreme fast so that it don't die cause of the heat!
Hmm...best option wait :D
 
I'm agreeing with regalis. Check pinout and other things. Power up the driver and whip out the multimeter to figure out polarity on the driver, if you can, since those pens are really hard to work with, as they are skinny.

For most of those things, the case is usually used as a path of electricity, and so, you do need to check the polarity. For my black-pen laser, mine is case positive, but I'm
not sure what your laser is like.

If they diode ends up being sorta dim, then you killed it, aka overheat. And yes, you will need to purchase a new diode, preferably from a laser store here on LPF. Chinese lasers are quite unreliable in terms of spec.

Lastly, be clear on coloration. 405nm is clearly purple and usually fluorescences blue. 445nm lasers are the tru-blu lasers.
