Hello, from NY

For a year now, I planned on building a burning laser pointer, but being obsessed with flashlights, I've spent the money on flashlights instead. Times have changed now and I'm focusing my lighting interests to lasers. So I did a simple Google search, "laser forums," and ran across LPF. My first initial impression was the big community and a handful of gold rush information, which attracted me to register. I look forward to learn.

P.S. I know this question may sound too "n00b", but where do I get started with the basics and all?
