Hello everyone, i'd like to introduce myself before starting to post.
Everyone calls me Dino (which is the diminutive form of my first name: Gerardo), I live in the south of italy and i've been fascinated with lasers and light in general since i was a kid. I love photography and everything related with engineering, DIY and homebrewing.
I have a very cheap 650nm pointer rated < 5mw (which uses the dreaded LR44 alcaline cells) and a 532nm SDLasers 303 sold and checked by Jon at odicforce.com. He says that the laser is a true 60mw after external IR filtering.
The first time i turned it on i was amazed about how bright it was and how far it could reach. Dangerous and beautiful at the same time i couldn't help but keep watching the green dot jumping from wall to wall and the thick beam cut ting the air.
Soon i'll have a 100mw 650nm ROHM LD and some stuff to start experimenting: if i'll get something worth showing i'll post it.
Finally i'd like to thank all of you at LPF for your support and all the info i could find in the threads during my lurker days. :thanks: Have a nice day!
