I am seeing these 1W 532nm greenies on eBay selling with PSU for about $1200-1500. Are they junk or just cheap? I'm trying to decide whether to buy one. They seem to be quite a bit less expensive than the other 1 watter greenies.

Thanks for your advice as always,
Moon-raker

im not sure about the 1W greens but the BLM-100mw blue has had some good reviews with some reporting average power over 80mw.
ive been outbid on the blue 5 times.

When I got it, there was a nasty beam spray, 3mRad divergence, TEM[sub]00[/sub] beam, and averaged 550mW. Through various modifications I have made, it now peaks at 1.2W, but averages ~950mW over thirty seconds and slowly drops to 630mW over 5 minutes. It now has a TEM[sub]01[/sub] beam with ~2mRad divergence. Not bad, but quite an improvement.

I contacted them initially and all they gave was excuses. From my negative feedback, they retaliated with a negative and blocked me from their auctions.

In short, not the best buy for a quality laser. I'd go with viasho.

Definitely that's a ripoff mate. Well not completely despite its ending price. No offense Cyparagon, but that laser sounds like a POS to me. Sounds like you're being sold with a 500mW laser that's advertised as a 1W unit. Not a stable or good quality one either. Proper 1W green should be giving out at least >1W average when it's operating for hours not 5 minutes! Fresh from factory they should give out about 1.2W stable and sometimes more. You should be questioning it when you're only getting 1W or less on average when it's running for hours. Based on what you said, this laser is nothing compared to Viasho. The blue one is no better either. It sounds like a 50mW unit to me. Normally 50mW would give out about >70mW average power output. Man, I'm getting pumped up now. These eBay scammers need to be stopped. Sorry guys, I'm not trying to be rude here, but I've got a few of bad experiences myself when I was new into lasers. Anyway, I hope my opinion would help the original poster.

Cheers.
