Laser Pointer Forums - Discuss Laser Pointers | High Power Lasers

Hello laser enthusiasts! Longtime member of a big flashlight forum and not new to lasers either but haven't owned much in the way of lasers except a 30mw green and a 30 watt CO2 laser (only had the laser part and not the power supply or CO2 parts so never fired it up. Sold some years ago). Just found that 30 watt CO2 laser at an electronics surplus store for a good price but didn't have the time or inclination back then to get everything to fully set it up so it was sold.

I think what has held me back from getting into lasers is concern for safety of ones eyes and the question of what real use a high power laser has once the novelty of lighting matches and popping balloons has worn off. So I'll ask what uses do you find for your lasers?
