I know I'm not an expert on lasers, but I would like to know if I have a defective laser. (Is it possibly mode-hopping?)
Below is a picture of my Lyra G-5 shining on a wall. As you can see, there is a big green blob to the left of the main dot. This blob is only visible in dark conditions.

And no, the photo was not taken in 2003. And the little dot in the lower left corner was picked up by the camera.

The little blob looks like a fingerprint, although I highly doubt it is because I never took off the aperture cap. When I block the beam ~1cm from the aperture, the blob is not affected.
Also, I believe that the laser does not have an infrared filter also, as seen below is the laser shining through my Nova Lasers glasses directly into the camera.
