A 10440 li-ion cell is the same size as a AAA. Li-ion cells supply 3.7V, alkaline and carbon 1.5V and ni-mh and ni-cd 1.2V. It depends on the driver if it will accept regular AAAs

If your laser accepts 1 x 10440 you cant use 1 x AAA as a substitute, as the voltage will be too low. Normally you can replace 2 AAA's with a single Li, but that will depend on whether your driver can handle the extra voltage.

In this case it wont work.
