got my first laser!

this afternoon. X65 with a peak output of 89.2 and average of 78. Not to shabby i suppose ill write more about it when i get out of class. thanks again to all who have helped.

nice, my x-65 peaked at about 97 and averaged at about 82.
only problem is that its now mode hopping like crazy :'( :'( :'( and i might get it replaced.

i havent been able to read over all the paper work that was sent with the laser. i got it just before i had to run to class. (which is where i am now) whats mode hopping mean?

mode hopping is when it changes from TEM00 to TEM01 or 02. the dot will look very wierd instead of being round. i have a thread about it under the mutli media section.

The dot of the laser will split into two or more dots. Sometimes it doesn't split and just morphs into a oblong looking dot.
