I plan on buying a blu-ray laser or one close to that nanometer range. I am curious though about some of the aspects of them. I am thinking about getting one around 100mW because I would like to be able to burn a match or maybe a candle. I heard about them having like 4x, 6x, 8x, or 12x diodes too. What does that mean about the laser? Is there any decently priced blu-ray lasers you can point me to?

I would suggest that you do a little research on the Forum..
There is tons on info on 405nm Blu-Ray Lasers and tutorials
of how to build them...

You can use the Forum [Search] tab or the Google Search
bar at the top of almost every Forum page..

I just did a 3 second search and got this....

I have a few of these and are well worth the $$$

The 4x, 8x ect. means the speed which it can burn data to discs. The higher the number, the stronger the laser diode. Please use the search function next time ;)
