I got a cheapo ebay 303 green DPSS here putting out 3 (53x nm) lines. Looks like harmonics. I didnt think a DPSS can do something like that. Though Iv read people say similar things about 589nm spartans. No other 532 i have does anything like this. Pump diode leakage measures 804nm. Any thoughts?

Interesting. I though normally 808 would only produce 532 as a final output in that DPSS process used. Is it possible that the wavelength absorbed is lower/higher resulting in a different output wavelength? :)

There are actually multiple transitions around the dominant 4F(3/2) -> 4I(11/2) 1064nm transition, but 1064nm is so dominant that it typically drowns them out completely.

Your crystals likely just have funky coatings on them that suppress the 1064nm transition to a degree, while promoting the other odd ones.

Yup, not the first time we've seen a multi-line 532nm laser.

what are the chances? ive always wanted a multiline 532 so i can have an excuse to have pretty colors in my sig :p

Quite a few of my Fleabay 532nm lasers have had that strange multi-line effect. It's cool to see that some others have it as well :D

I've got one that puts out 4 lines and another that puts out 5. I treasure them as they aren't easy to find. There are other threads about this happening with 532nm lasers as far back as 7 years ago. BTW, all the lines are green. So, no multicolored lines.

Depends how long it was running. From a cold start I get mainly 532nm with a tiny second line starting. After 30sec to 60sec I have 3. If I keep it on there's a tiny 4th line starting to show. But all green. I'll try a wider scan when I get a chance.

Some 589's also do some extra lines. All are within +/- 10nm. Not sure anyone actually put them under a spectro to get real numbers. Some lines that would make sense are 585.2 and 588.3 (589 = 588.6).

My theoretical chart would suggest the other possible/likely lines that a 532 can create would center on the following: 529.0, 529.7, 531.5, 533.0, 534.7, 535.7, 542.3, 543.7, 544.7, 546.1

546.1nm sounds like a pretty color to have compared to 532nm i would say its worth it

I measured the lines on my 532nm with four lines. I didn't write them down, but they were, as I remember, between 532nm and 546nm. Not very far apart at all for four lines. All of them were green when looked at through a grating.

The lines are 532, 537, and 542. 5nm apart. Seems to be same as you paul. Next logical one should be 547nm. I had a tiny 4th one before. It doesnt wanna show now. Pretty interesting. Pics attached.

I have one that has five lines on it. The guy who sent it to me had one with 8 lines.
