While reading over our raffle that is still going on I believe, I had an idea.
Many people dont have the money to buy a nice laser. Many people do have $10 to piss away IF they think they will strike it rich. We could have a trusted member start a lottery of sorts and the winner will get say a blue ray pointer made by one of our skilled craftsmen. The skilled craftsman will get paid well for his work and one of us or two or three will get a nice pointer. Hell, I'd throw in 10 or 20 bucks every month IF I thought I had a good chance of winning. We are not talking megabucks odds either!
What do you think? LETS DO IT, LETS DO IT!!!!

The donation raffle is over. And I'm sure that if our skilled craftsmen decide it's worth it, they would do it. ::)
Let's say you buy 1 ticket of the 10 tickets sold. That gives you a 10% chance, which is not a lot.And the guy selling the laser would only get $100 which is also not really a lot.So I don't know.... I think they're better off just selling the thing.

I'm a firm believer that people are motivated by greed. We are human after all. I would even guarantee the sale IF not enough people bought into it. You could also state that if enough money is not taken in then no go. Or make it $20. I would put up that much in the hope of winning a good laser. Just an idea, the best laid plans.

Great idea. Just a little impractical. I would for example be a little sceptical in paying $10 for a ticket, each time, not knowing if I win this time. I would however volunteer for 'craftsmen' if and when this idea is realized.

Yeah maybe it is impractical. If only 3 people bit you would have to return the money. I'm thinking of a pic of that juicy 100mw blue ray that would have people drooling and forgetting how much the buy in is.

For someone to win, many people would have to get screwed over.

Repeat process.

Repeat process.

In the end there are a few winners and many losers.

As a whole it'd be much better just to save up yourself.

The only reason the raffle was a good idea is because it was for the good of the forum.

This would be beneficial to a few of us,
while the majority would have to pay for it,
wouldn't you agree usakicksass?
