Hi, If you don't want to make your own, I am selling this laser torch which was made according to Daedal's specks. It was made by xgeek and it is perfect! I am selling it because I made my own now. (I wanted to be able to tell my friends that I made this awesome burner) I measured at the diode: 2.75 volts and 248ma current. I don't have a way of measuring the beam, but it will pop balloons at 15 to 20 feet! It will easily light matches at 4 feet and I even lit a match at 7 feet! Daedal is the man...and xgeek did a great job building it. If you are interested, I am selling it for what I paid: $144 plus shipping. (I will include Energizer lithium batteries as well) You can PM me, or e-mail me and give me your shipping information so I can get a shipping quote.
Jay

Re: FS: Red Laser Torch For Sale! 200+mw Burner!

DUDE!! My DIY laser project made it all the way to eBay... ;D Maybe I should start a company then :P ::) (J/K)

I feel so honored now! 8-)

Although... on a serious note... xgeek did do a great job with these and the laser itself is an incredible burner... I use it myself and it really is the leader of the pack of all the ones I have here. It's nice and solid and can do all kinds of burning. I tested mine at ~100mW steady, so this would be just about the same :) The price is really quite a steal.

GL Jay :)

DDL, I really am very surprised at this burner that you designed! I made my own now...which is just the same as this one by xgeek except that I used the AixiZ LD. The two are so similar that I can't really tell if there is any difference....I don't have a way to measure the beam, just burning and popping. I guess if it doesn't sell, I really wouldn't mind at all having 2 of them! One with the Sony diode, and one with the AixiZ... Anyway, serious props to you man. That's totally cool that you gave this tutorial for free, because it is worth paying for!
Thanks DDL!
Jay
