I'm selling this Blu Ray in a box. It's an 803T Diode running from a DDL circuit fixed at 125ma and powered by a 9V battery. It's only putting out 65mW for some reason. It still burns things, makes a nice beam and flouresces plenty. Maybe someone would like to buy this and attempt to fix it, or someone wants a lower powered UV laser? I'm in Australia, don't mind shipping internationally. Selling for $US50 ONO shipped anywhere. Pm me

Wasn´t the laserbee LPM the meter were you had to change the settings for each different wavelength you are measuring?
IIRC, it does not have any 405 nm setting, and you have to use a mutiplier on the 473 setting...
Could be wrong, though.

*edit: pretty sure I am wrong. It is the lasercheck meter...

Next time I buy from jaycar, I'm definitely going to pick up some blue boxes, Ive only had clear and black before.

The 9v sticking out is a bit random :P. I now power all my box builds with a single cr123a and lm3410

LaserBee is a thermal based meter. As such it doesn't matter about the wavelength as it just measures the heat. You don't have to make adjustments for it.

It's optical based meters where you have to make the adjustment and stuff. Just like here: http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1217029972 and peoples LPM-1 meters.


nvmextc, that part where you are displaying the power looks completely hacked. Like copy paste. But... I'm guessing that's because the numbers didn't come up very well in the photo and you had to enhance it, right?

I like putting my 9v's in the case like this, I like having the batteries outside as it leads to less fiddling and breaking.

Yer the LPM shot had to be enhanced cos of the light from the BR, it messes up my camera, the screen just looks bright green, I just changed the color levels in that area, that's why it looks hacked. I have another photo where you can see the numbers clearly, but not the laser.

you're absolutely correct... and it is the LPM-1 does not have a calibrated
setting for 405nm which requires you to set it to 473nm and multiply the reading
manually by something (1.7-2.6 IIRC). The LaserCheck does this calculation with
the on board MCU. But I understand the optical LaserCheck has some issues at
405nm.
