LPM results show a very stable output over 1.6W over a 2 minute run time. The heat sink barely creeps over room temperature during that time. I haven't run it more than 2 minutes, but I would assume you could safely run this laser for 3-4 minutes without any heat issues.
Giant 1 5/8” diameter x 2” long aluminum heatsink.
The host is also machined to fit the heatsink while allowing maximum contact (the heatsink is a perfect fit for the host, so tight that it will not fit if it is warm due thermal expansion of the metal). This means that it is in SOLID contact with the host at all times for maximum heat dissipation.
The diode is mounted in a custom copper core which is press fit into the big aluminum heatsink. This allows heat to be transferred very quickly away from the diode.
Driver is fully heatsinked (regulator and resistors) with lots of copper.
There are actually two layers of 1/8” copper bar on top of the driver, but only one is pictured. Everything is bonded with premium arctic silver epoxy for maximum heat transfer.
Custom focus knob that stays where you put it!
I added an o-ring (after taking the picture) around the base of the focus ring. It is rock solid with absolutely no play, and will not move unless you want it to!

Paracord wrap on the handle provides a comfortable grip (It is impossible to remove without cutting the paracord).
