Hey all.
If any of you are building a pulsed laser such as an SSY-1 or a homebuilt YAG/Ruby/Glass system I have some used pulse forming network (PFN) capacitors designed for laser service.
Each capacitor is 1200 uF with a rating of 500V. That is 150J of energy dumped into a flashlamp. If you plan on using one of these for an SSY-1 laser head I would recommend removing the passive dye q-switch before firing the lamp with this much energy. They come with the connector screws and mounting bolt with nut and washer, and are shorted for shipping and safety.
I'll add some more details and a picture here in a bit.
Warning: 150J shorted to ground through your body will kill you outright. There is no second chances with capacitors like these. Therefore, 18 years of age or older only.
PM me if you are interested. They will go up on eBay soon and I wanted to give you guys a shot at them first.
