I am trying to get my Flexmod P3 (Interlock) setup for my laser engraver. I have 2w M140 from DTR. The issue I am having is the FM goes into protection mode if I go over 1A. I am using a dummy test load 6 diodes and 2w 1ohm resistor. I am measuring mv across the resistor to get the ma. I am getting to 1.052 mv then the protection kicks in. I am using my bench top power supply for the 12v to the FM and +5v to the M+.

I don't know what the issue is. I will be using the FM for analog laser engraving.

Any help would be great!!
Thanks

Are you certain you're adjusting the correct pots? What is the current with MOD at 0V? Do you have a LARGE heat sink on that TO-220? What is your supply voltage with that 1A load?

Thanks for responding. I figured it out, everything is fine. I have an older bench top power supply (from the 80's). It has 12v posts, 5v, and a variable 2-20v. I was using the 12v for the flexmod and the variable for the 5v for the trigger. I didn't like that the 5v post is putting out 5.3v. My power supply has sat in the same spot for years. I moved it and that is when I noticed the 1A under the 12v post...... sigh.. :banghead: I had never seen it and I couldn't imagine a power supply that only had 1A on a 12v post. The variable voltage has 2.5A. So I moved things around and it works fine. I hate it when crap like that happens. So often it is the stupid stuff that gets you. The sad thing is I am pretty experienced with electronics and I should know better.

Thanks for responding.
Sooo many things on forums go unanswered and you get no help.
