Hey guys! Joe here!

So here is my first 445 build. I ordered a M140 diode from DTR. It showed up in like a week which was awesome. For the host I got a S4 assembly from Survival Lasers. I made a practice build 650nm to start. Everyone that I showed it to was confused when I said I built it, so had to show them the innards. Well one of the times the wires got twisted and shorted the driver and blew it... HA! So right away I went onto The m140 build. A slight mishap is not going to slow me down. I am a newb and these things WILL HAPPEN!!:eg:

Anyways moving on! I do not have any build pics really! I was into the moment and built two lasers in a few hours.

I also wanted to do the build the harder way. I got a diode w/out module. I have already pressed a few 650nm diodes and wanted to make sure I did not psych myself out with the more expensive diode. Soldering is the easy part. Just make sure everything is set up perfectly with some "helping hands" so all you have to do is the two second iron touch.
The driver is also from Survival Lasers. It is the 1.25amp fixed current driver. I re-soldered silicone insulated wiring from "flaminpyro". That also had to be soldered to the brass ring and then pressed in the driver pill.

Here is the assembly with the same heatsink from the 650mn build but with the 405/445 glass lens

Beam shot against white while wearing my eagles! It lights the room up and I'm sure my neighbors think I'm crazy. Actually they know I am, for I am there mechanic HA!

That TIR inside the tank is neat. I used to do that all the time when I first got my argon. Nice build! I wish i had the soldering skills to do it! :D
