First laser pointer

I'm looking into buying my first green laser pointer. I was hoping to spend around $20-40 (I really don't have a lot of money).
I was looking on dealextreme.com and I found this one: The True Green Laser Pen 5mW-$17.74, because of the reviews and it looked like the best one I could get as I'm in the US.

Are there other trusted sites online for laser pointers in my price range?
Maybe the 3-4.8mW Green Laser Pointer on optotronics.com?

The 5mW greens on DX have shown to be more like 10-20mW's.

My friend,

With my humble experience, Those DX so-called "true" 5mW green lasers are at best, Crap.

The quality control on those $17.00 lasers is practically non-existant

In other words, You get what you pay for. Others may have had better luck than me.

These are slightly more than twice the price (shipped) than the others but, I think you will be more than happy that you spent the few extra dollars.

Paypal won't let U.S. people to buy any laser 5mW or over from DX anymore. They will simply refund your money and cancel the order. But, DX has a new 4mW laser, which probably the same as the so called 5mW which as above posts say they come from 10-20-30 or highest I've heard is in the mid 40mW. I'm not sure about this new 4mW laser though... :-?

But yes, DX True laser pens wont last very long before they malfunction.

And I'm sorry, for your price range you're not going to get anything of exceptional quality. You should save up for one of these bad boys:

Yeah I figured my price range was low...but you know the "Fundamentals of the economy are strong" (Just borrowing from John McSame) So I guess I CAN afford it!
