Hi, I'm new to these forms and I'm new to building lasers I have ordered a 5mw true green laser from dealextreme and thats what has gotten me into lasers. I have some parts I'm going to list but I need to what to solder what to combine, etc. Here is the laser module https://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.26887, this is the body I want to use https://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15687, I don't know what other parts I need since I'm new to this stuff and can you please tell me the process.

Thanks

Nick

Jayrob's green kit uses that exact host. I don't know if you can use that module with his kit though. I would contact him when you get the chance.

Also at that price I would get a more powerful module.

The DX module will work. You would just cut the red wire off, and cut the black wire just about all the way off, and leave a soldered blob there for your contact point to your battery negative.

This is fine since you will have your spring in the tail cap. The red wire (positive), is the same as the module case. So since the case is your positive battery (via the tail switch... battery position - case positive), my set screw in the host pill (as shown in the pictures), will be the positive contact point.

About the o-like module, it's basically the same wiring, except there is a spring for the negative contact instead of a wire. And again, the module case is positive...

The first post in my DIY Green thread is a tutorial for the easy assembly. The kit offers good heatsinking for your module... :)

Well, from what I have found, a heatsink is always best. These cheap modules usually have about a 1 minute duty cycle too...

DealExtreme: $10.90 C6 DIY Cree LED Flashlight Full Casing/Shell with Driver Pill (2*CR123A/1*18650) would this casing also work? I think I'm going to get a bit more money and spend on a 100mw module or a 200mw module then when I have the money I'll pm you for a heat sink and a positve conecter and that front piece from this thread you posted http://laserpointerforums.com/f64/fs-diy-green-kit-host-heatsink-easy-assembly-22520.html, If that casing I posted right now is not going to fit I'll use the the one from the thread, and which modules are better the ones from dealextreme or the ones from this site www.0-like.com--product

I read somewhere that the green modules arent actually 200 mw, more like 140. Maybe you should get the 150mw, they seem up to speck and are cheaper.
