I heard that different wavelengths have different amounts of energy. So i wanted to know what would be better for little things like popping ballons or lighting matches. a 200mw 660nm or a 100mw 405nm. I was going to get one of these modules off of ebay but im not sure witch to choose:
660nm 200mw High-Power Red Laser Module/Focusable/12*40mm/Gift battery case | eBay
Focusable 405nm Violet/Blue 100mW Laser Diode Module | eBay

Common sense really, 200mw will burn better than 100mw. Be sure to get goggles, anything that can pop balloons will mess your eyes up pretty bad.

No worries, and I think these "people" may have meant that 445nm wavelength diodes can go at much higher powers, like 2w etc. 405nm and 650nm are pretty similar, beam diameter etc, except one's voilet and ones red.
