I've finally completed my first Blu Ray MXDL host. I've used a fixed rckstr drive @ 150ma, and an 803T diode from AMK's 3rd GB. (I've had alot of luck extracting these diodes, I killed the last 3 I had from another GB very quickly but that's another story).
It's host is the 5W MXDL that uses 3x10440's and I've used 1 of Jayrob's heatsink. It's putting out 115mW atm, a number I'm happy with considering past results. :)
Here's some photo's and a link to a video. It can cut through white electrical tape, but it's hard to make a video cos of the flourescence.

And compared with 80mW green and 210mW red.

:o In the last picture it overpowers the greenie. What duty cycle are you using for it? Great jpb.

;)
Great. I'll be doing the same in a few days, with the diode from the same GB. Currently I have a red in my MXDL with ddl driver and it drains the batteries in 10min. I'm waiting for my Lavadrive V2, so I can burn for at least an hour.

Good job there nvmextc! Nice to see that people are having success with my heatsink designs. :)

Thx for the comments guys. :) Yer I like that 3rd pic, the room was foggy and my camera seems to like violet. It's on roughly a 2 minute duty cycle (it's hard to turn it off). Have played with it heaps and haven't run the batteries flat yet :). and Thx jayrob, these heatsinks are great to use.

i just made my red in this beast of a flash light and i love the feel.

the heat sink is great too! and that host has so much room. i actually have the whole aixiz module with the rckstr driver inside of it and it fits no problem!

your build looks great! you can get a pretty good duty cycle out of this laser with that massive heat sink!

Congrats to both of you! No better feeling than when you can make something you like work!!
