FedEx? Really?

As most of you know I ordered a PGL from CNI on Thursday May 21st. The shipping option CNI used was "International Priority" which says on their website 1-3 business days, next buissness day to the U.S./Canada/Mexico.

Not counting the weekend & Memorial Day it is not 3 days later & my package made it to Oakland, California which is only 2 hours from me to freakin' Memphis Tennessee.....:wtf:

I was told by a FedEx employee this was due to my laser not clearing customs. What? It's a perfectly legal item & my last laser passed customs in under 1 hour at the same location(Oakland). They also don't even show an estimated delivery date anymore so I'm stuck here waiting. It sucks though, I understand mistakes happen & the FedEx driver who's delivers to me is a really nice guy. I'm just tired of all this stuff. I payed $70 for next day business(as listed on their website) and we are now on day 3!

I called about a refund but I don't really care about getting any money back. I just want my item in the time frame they guaranteed. Anyone else experience this?

Sorry about my rant, just a little frustrated.

Edit: It now shows it just left the Memphis Facility. Let's hope everything else goes smoothly :)

That's too bad to hear Alex. For me Fedex has been a pain to deal with as well. After my package was unable to deliver because I wasn't home, they left a note that it would be delivered next day. Next day, nothing.
I checked the online tracking, nothing. Then I called them to get it delivered the next day, gave them my address and again they didn't deliver. They somehow wrote down a whole other address. So then I called a second time to have it delivered at my work address, gave the address and AGAIN they messed up. In the end I somehow got it delivered at work when it was supposed to get sent to my home address. To my surprise everything was done manually. No computers, scanners or anything to make delivering the package easier. Never dealing with them again.

Ironically, I sent an overnight package to Florida, and it ended up stopping and doing some sight seeing in Memphis Tennessee instead.

I called Fedex and apparently the plane had mechanical problems and was routed to Memphis which is a main hub.

The case the samples I sent the package to the lab for rush analysis required me to get the results by last Wednesday back from the lab.

So, I overnighted it on MONDAY, so the lab would get it Tuesday morning, and have results for me Tuesday afternoon/Wednesday morning....but on Wednesday, the lab had never received it...and, by the time they did, and sent results, I was in Boston instead of NJ.

THAT meant I did not see the results 'til yesterday, and, unfortunately, the onsite follow up forensic evidence had already been destroyed.

Memphis is their main sort hub so I'm not surprised your package went there first. It seems counter intuitive to send a package half way across the country then back but overall it's much more efficient. Like UPS they have in house customs facilities there too.

FWIW when I had my 473 from JetLasers shipped by UPS it took almost exactly 24 hours from the time they picked it up in China until it cleared customs at their Louisville facility. I wouldn't be too worried unless the tracking info indicates some sort of issue.

@LtKernelPanic

Yeah :) the package is now in the main city near me so it seems everything is going fine now, yay :)
