Hi all,
this is my first post and looking for new year inspiration.
I am a small (work from my shed at home ) uk based anodiser specialising in multi coloured graphical anodising. I am currently contemplating building my own 5 axis cnc laser that will engrave onto the anodised surface. the usual approach is with a CO2 tube, but this is limited to 3 axis due to its size and bulk. so i am looking for an alternative light weight substitute (if possible). the problem lies in my complete lack of knowledge when it comes to lasers and the wave length and power required for this purpose. google searches dont come up with specific answers, rather using YAG or CO2 which i think is possibly using a sledge hammer to crack a nut approach ie one machine does all rather than a specific task.
has anyone had any experience with this using small laser diodes and able to offer any advice ?
thanks in advance
