Got a DPSS pointer rated 100-200mW, it only works when it's warm! Very dim to no output below 20 Celsius..

Is this normal?
 





Yeah, thats why I don't prefer DPSS pointers they are pretty useless here in north ❄️
I'm sure there are some dpss lasers that work, like with self frequency doubling crystals. Like you can make a 575nm yellow pointer that could work at cold temperatures ive never tested it out, i might test it out with my homemade 565nm pointer to see if it will work in the cold.

Yes, normal for DPSS lasers.
Heat generation significantly affects the power stability of the lasers: Miniature DPSS lasers are extremely temperature sensitive. "The first miniature DPSS lasers to enter the market had a very limited temperature range: values typically ranged between 10°C and 30°C or between 15°C and 40°C. Can you back that temperature statement up with something other than speculation based upon wishful imagination?
Please provide actual credible 3rd party data or papers supporting the above posted statement if any exist.

Nobody anywhere in the world makes or offers any 575nm pointers much less cold temperatire versions, so is more than a bit difficult to claim that.

Anything on the Lasence actual web site over 545nm shows operating temperature 10 or 15 degrees C to 50 degrees C
