I want to modify a projector to 7000 lumen, using a 36V 100W LED. It should be pretty simple. The average lamp is about 80V I will be using about 42V The extra 6V is going to be for the built-in TEC. But what do I do with the extra 38V? And all I'm doing is modifying the lamp assembly.

The other question is what kind of projector would you need/be better? LCD, or DLP. And would your projector need to have a high contrast ratio to project 7000 lumen? Another important question is... lets say I'm modifying a projector with a brightness of 3000 lumen. Would the optics be able to handle 7000 lumen?

Thanks,

dlp should work beter since the loses in the optics and filters are a lot smaller then in a lcd projector
