Diods! TO-18 (5.6mm) $$$$

Im looking for a good cheap place to buy diods. im making a veriety or lasers using the DIY Empty CLASSIC Host.

any tips on making them, places to buy parts and diods that would be great! looking for violet puple diods 405nm 500mw. blue diods 445nm 1000mw-2000mw. red diods 650nm 500mw. and green diods 532nm 500mw-1000mw. and im looking for the diod size =TO-18 (5.6mm)

AFAIK there are no green diodes of that output. Look on google for DTR'S laser shop, he has some good modules for cheap prices

could i put the 445nm M140 blue laser diode 2w in the DIY Empty CLASSIC Host? is the heatsink to small? what would i need? possibly better hosts in mind?

You would have very short runtimes yes. Some good big hosts are sold by mcrouse, he sells some of the biggest hosts I know. Also look at jayrobs host kits, he has a vast selection, simply take your pick

what would you think my runtimes would be if i were using this host 1min on 1 min off? i would like them to have at least a 2000>hour life time.

Well if you were using it 1 min on 1min off, your runtime would be 1min on, 1 min off lol. Thats what you just said. In that host, I would say about 20 seconds on 30 seconds off or something like that. Best to use a bigger host. Also if your looking for 2w, I doubt it will last 2000+ hours, maybe put the current down to get about 1500 ish for a longer runtime

It's not good host for 445nm .. it has push button. That is good for painting .. but bad for burning. Switch is much better. And you need good one. That is one of the reasons we use LED flashlight hosts so often.
