i always thought the higher the number of lines, the more beams u see when shining a laser through it. i have 2x 500 lines, 1x 100, and 1x 13,500 gratings.
the 500 lined gratings project about 5 or 6 beams, yet the 1000 lined grating only shows 3?
the 13,500 grating looks the best, looks like the megamatrix grating from nova.
does any1 know of any other shops that sell these same gratings as nova?
for $27 a piece i find that a little harsh, including the $26 overseas shipping fee.
if any1 has any alternate to these that may be willing to sell, drop me a pm.
cheers!

More lines = less beams. Diffraction is a bi*** ain't it? ;D

If you want more of the diffractions I sent you, I can sell those for a buck or two apiece plus a few bucks shipping. The 500 lines/mm single axis and 13,500 lines/inch doubles are the only ones I have though - sorry.

if thats the case, how comes the 13,500 grating projects loadsa beams, alot more than the other 2 combined?

the 13,500 is lines/INCH while the 1000 and 500 are lines/MM. That 13,500 lines/inch equates to ~500lines/mm AND it spreads it in both directions.

so all the different gratings on nova site have a different number of lines.
cant u get hold of any of those that nova sell? they seem to be the only place u can buy them from.
