Hey,

I have a PL520 520nm Osram module with a line generating lens
(https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/home/diodes/pl520-520nm-laser-diode)

But instead of just one line I want to generate 5 parallel lines using this DOE:
https://www.laserfuchs.de/de/doe-de-r252

So I just switched the lenses but I am not getting the correct diffraction pattern. I am thinking that I need to switch the Collimating focus lens, perhaps for a Converging focus lens. Does anyone have experience and know which focus lens would work for me?

Would be very grateful for any input!

Yes, you'll want a regular collimating lens on there if the diffraction grating is going to be creating the lines. Otherwise it's diffracting the line from the existing lens and making lines of lines... :D

Sorry maybe I was unclear

The original configuration was: Collimating focus lens + line generating lens

and now I switched to: Collimating focus lens + DOE 5 line lens

However, instead of 5 parallel lines I generate maybe 50+ at very large angles
