Okay so I practiced trying to de-can a couple of my dead diodes to see if I could do it with the tools I have at hand.
Short and long answer is a resounding NO!
I have a a140 diode that got a bit of dust on the lens and cooked a hole straight through it. The diode is still good but I know I will never be able to get the can off without destroying it.
I wanted to ask if anyone that has a professional decaning tool would be willing to take the can off this diode for a small charge. I will not hold that person liable in any way for any damages to the diode, as I understand these things can happen.
If there's someone out there that can help, please drop me a PM and well see if we can get this diode up and running again. Could be a good chance for a nice photo of the inside of the diode as well
Thanks:beer::beer:
