CR2 size

Does anyone know if a CR2 battery is skinny enough to fit into a battery slot in a maglite ment to hold AAs?

I am trying to make a new waterproof housing for an old 100mW WL pointer and when I use this housing there is not enough room for two or even 1 AA batt. So would a CR2 work?

I think it can fit in if you have a larger diameter .
