So I just made my first 2 405nm Laser pointers. I used PHR-803T, Micro FlexDrive, and a LED flashlight. After taking the LEDs out I was able to use the plastic housing as a mount. I was playing with it for a few days. I noticed it would get a little warm after a min or 2. I figured it's because it's in a plastic housing. Then I remembered reading a few people using JB Weld as a heat conductor and glue to keep a heatsink on a chip. The nice part is it's drillable and won't conduct electricity. So far so good. I cranked the driver up to 150ma from about 120ma with no issues. Runs cool.
