So, I got four laser modules from AixiZ just for the heck of it. To test them I soldered two C batteries together and just held the leads to the batteries. When I first did this I was impressed with the power that came out of these things! Two where $12 (<10mW), and the other two where only $4 (5mW). They all have adjustable lenses, and if you focus them just right you can get the dot visible up too 2000 feet away! I thought this was a great deal!

Anyway, so I left my battery pack, and one of the 10mW lasers on my kitchen table after I got done shining it into the snow storm we just had (no school for four days ;D ). I saw my cat push the battery pack off the table, and I rushed to it in fear of my laser being destroyed. The cat took off, and took my laser with him! Now I don't know where my laser is, and I am vary mad!! >:(

P.S. 100 posts!!!

wow that is unreal. now youve got your cat obsesed with lasers... ;D

Muahahahahahaha ! Next time, use heavier batteries ! LOL !!!

Hey Beefy - your kitty didn't look like this after you pi$$ed him off with the laser, did he ? If so - that might explain why he took it - he's plottin, man - watch out !

Those $4 red modules are a great little laser for the price! I have a few of them too.

wait so the modules are just like little 5mW red lasers but four bucks a piece????

Yep, little brass module 8mm dia. x 14mm, with red/black wire leads, glass optics, the front part threads on - fine threads - so it can be adjusted/focused at any distance. Hard to beat for four bucks.

They are on this laser module price page at Aixiz:

wow cheap. do they have a permanent on off switch? in other words, like a flashlight?

No - they are only the modules - no power supply (just the two wires) and no switch. No case for batts - nada ! Completely ready for you to install in the casing of your choice !

so you could like hook it up to a car battery or something? just kidding. im sure that wouldnt work too well.

a couple of AA batteries will work, though ! These are the modules I use when making the dvd-burner lasers....I punch out the 5-10mw diode (it dies a horrible death in the process) and install a new diode !

and then you could pimp it out and add a couple of car batteries, a set of wheels, and youve got your own driving laser mobile! nevermind...

Yes, there high power ones do cost a lot of money, but I love the little ones! ;D ;D ;D

I think I will buy some more soon. I still need to see if I can turn a case on my lathe. ;D
