Case positive wiring!

Most of Laserglow's lasers are case positive, so this got me thinking. I took apart my anser and libra that were broken, and found that they have the same driver (not too surprising). I found that the driver however, in the case of the libra, has a single wire shorting one of the pins to a lone hole off to the side, that is used (i believe) as the cathode for diode output monitoring on the anser. both of these use 3.8mm tiny diodes, and I'd been looking for a way to wire case positive without isolating something....

I just found my answer.

I managed to steal the driver off the module, and replaced it with one of my 9mm 680nm case positive diodes, wired the pins correctly, and shorted the negative to the cathode monitor hole and did a quick test, confirming that it works. Same input of 3V and it fired right up with no issues or shorts, and no need for isolation.

Wired as follows:

I don't have it in a host, so I need both hands to test it freehand. But it does work. I've seen a few things come up on this, so I thought I'd share my findings. I wonder if these drivers can be bought bulk somewhere?
