so I took some silver paper and attached to my laser
and WALLA! it works again

but the silver paper is too big and the laser output is very very weak..

I want to make a homemade switch if thats possible..

any help on this would be much appriciated

There not much you can really do without actual tail-cap or a DIY switch is out of the question when a real one (new) costs less than a dollar..

- What is your intended host?
- How weak is the output?
- Can you measure current at the tailcap with the silver paper ?

also you should mention in the post , with complete detail and pictures if possible.
