Hey everyone. I have a minimag and a 16x diode. If anyone would be interested in making the "minimag laser" for me, please post back. I would ship the diode and minimag. And then you could work on it and send it back with a price. All offers will be looked at. Thanks!

Hey I would be glad to help you out. But I do not want to risk your diode in just a minimag. If you send me the diode, I will put it in a Dorcy Metal Gear for you. We can work out a price after you PM me. Do you have an Axiz Housing? If not I do. Well welcome to the forums and I would love to help you out. I have a completed Dorcy Metal Gear. You can see the video of it in action HERE

im noob so apologies if none of this makes sense...
i was wondering, what are the risks with the minimag laser. i was thinking of making one myself
is the life of the diode affected or anything like that? and also, do u need to build a regulating circuit or anything like that for these DIY lasers?

Well, if you want your diode to work more than 5 seconds don't do the MiniMag mod unless you modify KipKay's design and current and Voltage regulate it. So if you want to do the minimag trick add a little regulating circuit to it.

how do i put something like that together
i have no experience with any electrical stuff .. is it worth trying for someone of my experience?
thanks

I will tell you this. I have hooked a laser diode directly to a minimag. The current going to the diode with fresh alkaline batteries, was a little over 200 mA. Now I used a GB 16 X diode. I strongly advise not doing this though.

I used a Minimag AND a circuit squished into the top (GB diode) works and burns great! :P

Nice.... ;D

Id be willing to pay 20 dollars if you put iit together with a circuit board so it doesnt burnout
