Hi. I started a thread a while back about red laser diode intensity and got some great advice. I then bought an LPC-826 diode and built a driver board as suggested. My question is, I have never constructed, so to speak, a laser. My diode doesn't produce a dot or beam so I assume I need a housing and focusing lense. Is this the case?
Many thanks

Yup, that's the case :)

Well, you don't technically need a host, or case, but it makes things a whole lot easier, than having it laid out on the table.

You absolutely do need a lens though.

You can get lenses from DTR, Jayrob, Survival Lasers, and Cajun Lasers. Though you probably don't want to spring for a "G" lens just yet, just something like this:

445nm AR Coated Standard Glass Lens Assembly

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I have ordered a housing and lens and look forward to its arrival.
Many thanks again
Kind regards
