Building A dvd Laser - need help

[MERCERLESS]

NOW  this isnt my first build, ive ran before i can walk,

i bought a blu ray module of ebay an built a lovely blu ray burning laser,

but anyways

NOW IM ON MAKIN A RED LASER USING DVD DIODE ECT,
ive stripped the dvd drive last night and found 2 diodes,

ones round

the other looks open like it doesnt had a top on it,

both have 3 pins on bottom

which ones which ??


also.......
i know one diode runs red and one infrared,   does the infra red on have a burnign ability too. ?

i know its invisible, but shame to see one diode goto waste
tips any one

oh and can i run it without a driver, if not, find me a bog standard driver, cheap, really cheap,

How did you manage to get bluray laser done, and still be asking these strange questions? What am I missing here?
