Hey so i built the outfit described on i-hacked.com with the dorcy host and all. I used it about 10 times, and now when i click the power button, the laser flashes on for a split second and then goes extremely dim, almost off. And i hear an extremely high pitched squeal coming from the assembly. Any ideas what the problem can be? I'd assume its not the diode seeing as it flashes for that split second. But heck, what to i know?

Try new batteries. If that doesn't help, it's probably an issue with the driver.

that was the first thing i tried... guess ill go ahead and buy a new driver. ive read a few different things on this forum about what current gives best life of the driver/diode. Would about 115mA be appropriate? and do you think i just got a faulty driver? or is this something i should expect regularly?

Oh hell no! Don't buy new driver!

This problem was around the forums before.
Problem is that there is a driver that comes with the flashlight that after a while starts conflicting with the FlexDrive.

You need to remove that one, and provide secure connections.

I am not sure where exactly is that driver located, I am under the impression it's in the tailcap but I could me mistaken, don't take my word for it. In any way, search on the forums.

Thanks. I did some searching and reading and it turns out that there is a built in driver... so ill find it and eliminate it. The flex drive will do its job right now!
