Broken green laser?...

I had a laser arrive in the mail today, I played around with it until the laser light started spreading. I screwed the top off and tried to clean the light inside but it got worse... I don't even see the beam anymore... How do I fix it?

If it is one of the DPSS lasers that are often sold on eBay it likely is beyond repair at this point and you would be better off just replacing it. Many of the 303 or 304 style lasers at 532 nm can be had for under $10. I have many of these and most seem to measure ~80 mW of output power. Since these are green lasers and our eyes are most sensitive to green they are bright enough and inexpensive enough to own many. Good luck to you.
