Does anyone know where to get a booster drive that can fit inside the dorcy jr and run off the 3 triple aaa originaly made to power the flashlight?

Do you know of any that can be homemade?
Yes. The "DDL" Driver is one that is homemade. IIRC it takes around 6volts of power, and put out around 4-5 volts.

For the DDL or daedal driver, use the forum search feature, the schematic will pop up for you. You might want to make one small addition to it, namely a resistor of about 470 ohms across the output capacitor. ( the cap near the laser diode in the schematic ) If you are making a bluray in this host, to have enough voltage to run the DDL and bluray diode, use 3 x 10440 lithiums. For a red, 2 x 10440 would be sufficient, with a dummy battery in the third spot. Some builders of reds have put the driver into the spot in the battery holder where the third battery would have been.

Just a note that the DDL driver is NOT a boost driver, hence requiring a higher voltage in than it will put out.
